Our energy audit services comply with Australia’s standard for energy audits being AS/NZS 3598 (commercial, industrial and transport), as well as the international ISO standard on Energy management systems ISO 50001. Depending on your needs, you can choose from three types of energy audits, including basic (Type 1), detailed (Type 2) or precision subsystem audits (Type 3).
Our approach to delivering energy audits is to be systematic, efficient, and thorough. At the outset we will develop a step plan with you and will report to you weekly or two-weekly to discuss progress, barriers, successes and next steps. We will develop a comprehensive energy footprint of the systems and sites we are assessing, based on your detailed electricity and gas consumption data and billing. We will immediately assess opportunities for tariff optimisation, negotiating better rates, power factor correction, peak demand reduction and offpeak energy demand. We will also benchmark your facility or processes against comparable metrics.
Site visits will inspect and audit all equipment and will sub-meter plant and processes where this is included in the scope. Between site inspections, data analysis and engagement with your staff, we will develop a long list of ideas for energy and cost saving, including basic waste reduction, behavioural change, metering and monitoring systems improvement, control upgrades, equipment retrofits and implementation of new technologies, including processes, services and renewable energy options. We will present you with this list for review and discussion.
Through a review of the opportunities with you, we will agree on those that are highest priority to progress with a more detailed business case assessment. We will proceed to develop business cases for these opportunities to determine their scope, costs, savings and return on investment.
We will develop an energy audit report for your facility or processes that includes an analysis of your energy footprint and benchmarking, a recommended action plan for feasible and cost-effective actions to reduce energy, cost and emissions, the business cases for high priority improvements, and a full list of all opportunities that were identified.
