Climate Active carbon neutral - 100% Renewables

Climate Active
Carbon Neutral

What is carbon neutrality?

Carbon neutrality is an interim measure on the way to net zero emissions. Being carbon neutral means that you are purchasing carbon offsets equal to your organisation’s emissions.

Over time, your goal should be to reduce carbon offset purchases and focus on decarbonising your operations and value chain.

What is the Climate Active Standard?

In Australia, the most highly regarded standard to achieve carbon neutrality is the voluntary Climate Active Standard, which is administered by the Commonwealth Government.

If you are looking to be carbon neutral in multiple jurisdictions, such as New Zealand, you can also use the Toitu program, or seek dual certification.

Why should you consider becoming certified under Climate Active?

Becoming carbon neutral shows that you are taking a stand in terms of climate change and that you want to be a leading organisation. It signals to your staff, suppliers, and customers that you have a purpose beyond making money.

Climate Active certification provides your business with the opportunity to:

  • Enhance corporate reputation, brand and image
  • Create additional value for your business
  • Lower emissions and better bottom line
  • Drives investment in low carbon technology
  • Product/service innovation
  • Connect better with the community and potential to align with SDGs
  • Engage employees and build internal capacity

100% Renewables is proudly Climate Active Certified

How do we help you achieve carbon neutrality?

You can seek Climate Active certification for your organisation, product or service, event, or precinct. We have a proven, 8-step method and multiple consultants registered under Climate Active to help you achieve certification.

What will you get throughout the project delivery?

  • Your Climate Active carbon footprint boundary and comparison to others in the sector
  • Climate Active carbon footprint
  • Clear costed plan for when you decide to become carbon neutral
  • Compliance with the Climate Active program requirements
  • Carbon offset strategy and help with sourcing carbon offsets

How long does it take to get certified?

Typically, it takes six months from the time you engage us to achieving carbon neutrality, but depending on your needs and resources, it could be achieved in as little as three months.

Have you ever wondered what carbon neutral means?

Carbon neutrality can be self-declared, by calculating your carbon footprint, and offsetting it. However, it does not come with the same credibility as getting certified under a Government-backed program. This is where Climate Active comes in.

A Climate Active carbon footprint encompasses many emission sources across the three carbon accounting scopes. One of the first steps in getting certified is to determine where you draw your carbon footprint boundary. Please watch our video series on Climate Active to find out more.
